What Does Religion Mean To You Essay

As a child my environment growing up was much different than most kids, I was not a part of the typical American family. Most kids growing up went to the same elementary school kindergarten through fifth grade, grew up with the same kids their whole life, and participated in extracurricular sports and activities, but that was not me. As a kid I went to at least four different elementary schools, I never went to the same school all three years of middle school, and going to all four years at my high school was the longest I had ever been in one place. My dad was a minister which meant we were always traveling and we would be on the road more than we would not be going from church to church so my dad could minister, we even moved out of the country and across the world to Australia because my dad had the opportunity to do missions work. …show more content…
My faith and belief in Jesus has shaped my whole life, the way I was raised, the values I have for myself, the goals I have set for my future, and most importantly the way I view the world. My parents have always taught me that I can do anything I set my mind to, and I can achieve greatness if I really wanted to. Growing up around a positive Christian environment is something I am extremely blessed to have had, I was given so much positive support from my family, friends, and spiritual leaders.
