The movie Life of Pi starts when Pi goes to school and was bullied because his name was Piscine. Later on he changed his name to Pi because of his love for math. Pi believes that religion and science should become one subject because of his belief that both happened. He believes in three religions Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism because he believes they all lead to one outcome. Not many respect that he believes in three religions. However, his parents do even though they don’t believe in religion. I think it’s okay how he believes in three religions.

He sees an orangutan named Orange Juice floating on a nest of bananas and covered in black spiders. Pi likes to give human qualities to animals and objects. When the zebra gets eaten alive by the hyena he struggles, feeling empathetic. Pi feeds Orange Juice to the hyena, which was hard for him. He had affection for Orange Juice but it was his only option if he wanted to stay alive. I think it would have been a hard choice for Pi.
During the time that Pi was on the lifeboat he realizes that Richard Parker’s name was originally Thirsty because he was always the first one to want water. Both Pi and Richard Parker had their names changed. He saw a connection between them. Pi thought of the story of how Christ complained only for thirst and compares Christ’s suffering to his. Pi and Richard Parker start to explore the island and see that there are a lot of them. Since there aren’t any predators on the island Richard Parker goes around eating them and Pi could be vegetarian again. He later on realises that the island is a predator. Pi sees that there are things that in the night come to kill and consume you. When he sees a piece of fruit he takes off the layers and finds a human tooth right inside. Then he realises how unsafe the island is, then takes Richard Parker and leaves.
Pi and Richard Parker soon land in Mexico and Pi is very sick. Richard Parker leaves and goes into the jungle without looking back at Pi. Then Pi is rescued by some local people who come and help him. After that, two men from the Maritime Department in the Japanese Ministry of Transport visit Pi in the hospital. They interview him because they want to know why the ship sank. He says what happened to him on his journey but they thought he wasn’t telling the truth when he was talking about the animals on the boat. I think it was a usual reaction because it’s not a story that’s usually
