Music in my culture is very present. Colombia which is from were I am is divided in regions and each region has its own unique style of music, the diversity level in the country is very high. The music depends of a lot of factors, for example the location, the people, the story behind it, etc…
For example, people in locations near the sea have a more tropical way of music than the ones located in the mountains. A great example of music importance in culture is the Jazz story, which was original from New Orleans and created by slaves in the civil war times, in which they used those songs to give motivation each day to survive from the hard work in slavery.
Music has a very personal meaning for me because it has helped me in many ways. One example is when I am feeling sad and need better mood I use happy songs to make my day better, also when I need motivation when I am exercising I use motivational music.
