When I started my career with Illinois Department of Corrections in 1987, there was an organization called Illinois Department of Correction Officer Defense League formed to promote and achieve the same respect as other law enforcement officers in another agency so I joined.
We joined and been a part of the Illinois Police Association for years we received the medallion and window decal but nothing has changed.
June 6, 1993, almost 24 years ago group of officers, sergeants and lieutenants came together and formed the Fraternal Order of Police Corrections Lodge 263 based on the principle of fair dealings with one another and the intentions on working with each other to finally get the respect and recognition as a law
