In the article by Ian Lovett and Michael Wines it is stated that Jerry Brown, Governor of California, is known of his battle against climate change and even participated in the United Nations climate change conference in Paris but failed to prevent the fire of emissions in California. Lovett and Wines claimed that the report in the journal Science the Porter Ranch breach doubled the amount of methane emitted daily in the Los Angeles Basin and Brown administration did take any actions to regulate this issue. The authors use as a support a claim made by Food & Water Watch that Brown does not do anything about climate change and is more interested in the oil and gas industry therefore opposed the ban on technique that caused fracking.
