What does it mean to be human? This is a question that many philosophers ask. Humans are classified as hominidae (The Great Apes), because 98.5 - 99.4% of the DNA between Humans and chimpanzees are similar. Which makes chimpanzees, “our closest living relative”. Humans are not the only biological species to have personalities, minds, and feelings. But what makes humans different from the rest? Humans are able to express themselves and communicate in a more complex language, have a way of illustrating culture and religion, and have a conscience which helps display common sense, morals, and intelligence.
Throughout evolution, humans were able to advance forward significantly quicker than any other animal because of how much more complex the communication became. This binds in with anthropology. In the past, humans were able to use colour markings to help distinguish and identify themselves from everyone else. When infants are born, they take months to years on learning, developing their senses, and understanding what is surrounds them. Human ancestors used jewellery, markings, and decorations to help identify themselves or their culture. In the present, humans are constantly encountering one another whether it may be at a workplace, school or just at a park. Humans are far more capable of creating more complex social bonds, culture and religion, which sets humans apart from any other
