What Does It Mean To Be So Irresponsible?

Improved Essays
I think the most common phrase I have ever heard come my mom is “You’re so irresponsible.” What does it really even mean to be considered “responsible?” I honestly don’t think that I have ever been known as being responsible until maybe this current year. I have had a rough life, it isn’t like I want to talk about this sort of topic to a random group of strangers. It’s not like I’m proud of every event that I’ve been through or would even see myself as being strong. At around the 18 month age I was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma (a cancer found in the small glands on top of the kidneys) and had Stage III. Yes, I know, sounds terrible right?

It also tells the reader that the parents were irresponsible in letting their kid go sailing around the world.…

In “The Charmer”, Initially, Winifred’s family never took responsibility for Zachary’s actions and he was seen as an angel with his charming ways. Zachary’s Charm allowed him to be excused from punishments and scoldings.…

What is the capacity in which things that are not under your control can affect the amount of moral responsibility that you face? For this topic, there are generally three main views that claim to answer this question, and they are each rather simple; first, there are those that think that people are only blameworthy for things that are under their control. Second, there are those who think that people are blameworthy for things that are not under their control, and lastly, there are those that restrict the second view, such that they can compromise between both views. In this paper, I will discuss the first two views only, providing arguments for the second view as well as possible counterarguments from those that think the first view is correct.…

Though this is true, to me accountability means: letting your actions rise above your excuses, overcome your fear and accept responsibility for the consequences you are accountable for. Accountability is liberating and requires a willingness to answer questions from those people affected by your actions. Accountability means to have the ability to follow through with your commitments you make for yourself or for others. It means honoring, exceeding, and improving standards.…
