What Does It Mean To Be In A Clique?

Language arts Have you ever been in a clique? Or have you ever been excluded from one? Well if you are wondering what a clique is it is a group of people with similar interests that exclude others on purpose. Sometimes they leave you out and even make fun of you, this may lead to bullying and this makes people feel left out and make kids feel insecure. When cliques are formed, they are created to leave kids out. In the text, how cliques make people feel left out the author states “Trey, Zack, and Steve were friends but Zack and Steve left out Trey to play basketball.” In my opinion they could of added Trey even if it was going to be uneven, because if they were his friend they wouldn’t have cared. Another example, in the text how cliques make people feel left out the author implies “Some kids feel more powerful when they’re mean to other people (like bullies).” In this quote some just want to be that person who rules the world and they just don’t know how that affects other people, because you really never know what is going on in this other person’s life. Most kids want to form the group to belong or be popular.to form a group for that reason doesn’t mean u have to be mean because most famous people are funny and wanted to be around. In the text “the benefits of cliques” it states cliques have their own cost and benefits.” This means you are going to give up certain stuff just to hang with people who have similar interest. Another reason is they might even change the person you are or what music or even cloths you wear. It states in “how cliques make people feel left out.” Why should a person have their own life to revolve around your life? They should be able to be free and do what they want.
