What Does It Mean To Be Found In Brave New World?

When first beginning to read this novel the reader may think that life if boring, dull, and that everyone is alike, but in actuality there are exciting things and people if you look for them. Like many teenagers, Jacob believes that he is a normal teenager, leading a normal, dull life, but after his grandfather’s death he discovers the truth. After having horrendous nightmares, he sets out to learn more about his grandfather, hoping it would solve his problem, but then learns of his uniqueness. Which in turn creates its own complications. Jacob can see monsters that no one else can and this power comes in handy when he is sought out to protect his grandfather’s friends that are stuck in a time loop. Although Jacob knows nothing about the peculiar world, he somehow finds this time loop and makes friends with the same children his grandfather made friends with at his age. Jacob also found his grandfather’s first love in the loop. …show more content…
With some reluctance, Miss Peregrine explains to Jacob the history of the evil spirits that hunt peculiar children like himself and explains that he, and everyone in the time loop is in danger. When their position is discovered they would all be killed and Miss Peregrine would be kidnapped. Miss Peregrine isn’t the only time keeping bird that is being kidnapped, most of her friends are being kidnapped as well. Jacob volunteers to help save the birds and is the only one that can see the monsters hunting them. After much deliberation, he takes a small group of peculiar children with him into the present to fight the monsters. While they are gone, Miss Peregrine is kidnapped. The book ends with all the children rowing through the sea to recapture their “time keeping
