What does it mean to be an American? Being an American means to be able to wake up know you have free choices, know you are not living under the ruling or dictatorship of another person, or persons. It is getting out of bed and choosing the slippers you chose be cause theyre your favorite. It is stepping outside with a cup of tea or coffee and reading a book that you want, not one that was chosen for you. I am proud to be an American because every day is a new day. Each day further is even more exciting than the day before because that was the dreams of our founding fathers. Every day the pledge is said and I don't stand out of habit, I stand because I am grateful for our soldiers, and for my freedom. Simply put, being American means being
