Heroes are people who aren’t recognized by society that do something extraordinary. Sometimes they even risk their own lives to save others. A hero is a person who is brave who is idealized for courage. A hero has outstanding achievements. Three individuals who epitomize what it means to be a hero are that are heroes to me are Moira Smith, Jack Beaton, and Taylor Winston.
Moira Smith was an officer who worked in New York. Moira was the first person to report that one of the Twin Towers was hit on the morning of September 11, 2001. After she made the report she ran inside the tower to evacuate people. She saved many lives and thanks to her help was able to get there faster. She was last seen going into the south tower right before the tower collapsed. What was left of her was given to her family on March 2002. Hero’s are everyday people that have done something for the greater good. A hero is a person who has gone out of their way to help or save something or someone from danger. The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines a hero as, a person, typically a man who is admired for having courage or having outstanding achievements (Merriam-Webster). In my opinion this book definition is wrong, because heroes aren’t just men. Heroes can range from being a small town sports team that just won a state championship or soldiers who saved a community from a terrorist group.…

I still hadn’t quite figured out that he was really gone. I waited at the door till I had to eat or use the bathroom, and then returned to sitting on the floor. Eventually it got to the point where everything began to sink in and by that time, I had already run out of tears to cry. Instead, I was angry; I was mad at my mom for letting him ride a motorcycle, at myself for letting him leave, at him for dying without me knowing it was going to be the last time I would see him alive, and at God for taking away the only person who knew all of my secrets. My older brother, younger sister and I were the only ones who really understood what was going on.…

An everyday hero is one that is characterized by the actions that he/she commits. The hero will always put themselves forward for the humanitarian good to defend against moral evil. The hero always acts involuntarily, the act of heroism will always be done under utilitarianism, and the hero will always act in heroism without the intention of gaining something for themselves.…
