What Does It Mean To Be A Hero?

Another time last year when I played basketball. All of the North cheerleaders did a cheer saying “who rules the house, the Bobcats rule the house. Opps my bad!”. So every time they did that cheer Hanna, Emily, Sophia, my grandma, and I would stand up in the stands and do the same thing. We made the cheerleaders so mad, that when the game was over one of them said something to my my grandma and my grandma said “Honey you started it.” To this day if you mention that game to one of use we will just start laughing.

I think my grandma is the craziest person I know (so does anyone else who knows her). When she was in High School she drug a girl out her car by her hair in the middle of the street. She likes to dance on her car at gas stations, sing in stores, and yell at people. One thing about her is she doesn’t care who is watching or how many people are staring at us if she wants to say or do something she will do it. She has a lot of crazy in her but I have learned to embrace it. Mostly the stuff she does now doesn’t surprise me and I don’t really get embarrassed anymore.

Anyone can be an hero if they just be themselves. To me my grandma is a true hero. She is always herself and doesn’t care what anybody thinks. She is an amazing person. Everyday she sacrifices so much for everybody. She gives up her time to take us places and do things for us. Thank you for being my hero. “ Hero's are ordinary people who makes themself extraordinary.” ~ Gerard

I believe there is a hero in all of us, so to define the word “hero” is sort of difficult. A hero can be a kind man holding the door open for a girl with her hands full. A hero can be a young girl who decides to donate her shrunken clothes instead of throwing them away. Some people think our society overly tosses the word “hero” around; however, I believe everyone is capable of being a hero. In fact, I believe everyone is a hero, in one way or another.…

While reading Julius Caesar by Shakespeare, I could not help but remember the words that were once spoken to me “To die a hero or to see yourself become the villain”. When I first heard these words, it was by one of my subordinates as he broke the news that he will be moving to different base, after we had work so hard in bringing him up thru the ranks and as he had finally gain the trust of those around him. As I attempted to change his mind he said to me “I rather die as the hero than see myself turn into a villain”, he believed those below him had gone from supporting him to criticizing his every move. When a person moves thru the ranks a few things tend to happen, first is the jealousy of those who have been left behind/ begins to rise…

There are a lot of people that could be considered heros. I think that the people who give things to the homeless or needy are heros. There are situations where someone would give some homeless person money, and the homeless person would end up giving it to someone they thought needed it more, and that makes them heros also. It just makes me feel so happy knowing you can help someone that has less than what you have. For example, a person who seems malnourished, you can buy them food, or give them your leftovers from the restaurant you just ate at.…
