After reading the article, "What does it mean to be a good teacher" by Tracey Garrett, I believe that the most important behavior of an effective teacher is the ability to establish order without being overly rigid. In a classroom, before learning can take place, teachers must create a safe, structured, and communicative learning environment for their strudents. If an environment is chaotic, learning will most likely not take place. I have observed many types of learning environments, some of which were very structured and others of which were not. The learning environments that lacked structured included very little successful teaching days. The students in the environments that were the most structured, communicative, and safe were happier,
