What Does It Mean To Be A Caring Person

Superior Essays
To be caring means, “The work or practice of looking after those unable to care for themselves.” Two of the main people who have really taught me what means and what it looks like to be caring would be my mom, my dad, and my grandpa. They have always been a great influence to me by always encouraging me to try to be caring towards anyone and everyone, especially those in need. Their determination to be caring daily is what inspires me to strive to be the kindest, most caring person I can be. For example, my dad’s generosity towards anyone he sees who is in need and how they react when he tries his best to go out of his way and help them shows how effective it really is when people kind-heartedly help eachother out. One of the times my dad helped out someone in need was when him, my mom, and I were about to drive out of the Albertson’s parking lot near …show more content…
They were all holding signs that said things like, “Out of gas and out of money please help” And they all looked very sad and cold. My dad stopped the car, got out, and walked over to the family of five, wallet in hand. He handed the mother twenty dollars and all the kids faces lit up. The mom thanked him very much and told him that he was the only one who has helped them during the four hours they were desperately waiting there. This changed my outlook on how effective it can be if you just help someone out. His generosity really inspired me to always try to help others when they’re in need because it really could have a great impact on them. A couple months after this it was summer and my family and I went to DisneyLand. I had my own money for spending at the shops and stuff. There are quite a lot of homeless people there and, with the grateful faces of the family my dad helped out in mind, I would try to give the homeless people some money any time I came across them. And every time I did they always were so grateful. It really is such a great feeling to help others

When I went on a mission trip in Florida three years ago we helped at a local soup kitchen. It was amazing to see just how many people showed up. It was Thanksgiving morning and heading to downtown Detroit. It wasn’t my typical Thursday morning with the sun glaring through the glass beating down on my face. I was with my best friend, Josh, and his family. I remember his mom saying “Helping those less fortunate is more rewarding than you think guys.” Didn’t think feeding homeless a Thanksgiving dinner was fun, I was ignorant tot the idea of it, but I didn’t know going to help less fortunate would open up a perspective on life I did not know about.…

We were being questioned so much that it made me realize that not many people help them out. One lady I encountered told me to make sure we had enough care packages left to give to others. Her response filled my heart with happiness because no matter her struggle, she wanted to make sure others were happy. That day we were able to help 10 people and that is only the beginning of making a…

When I think of a stunning place I think of the Dominican Republic. It’s a place where you can hear the ocean waves crashing upon the sand and feel the breeze blowing in your face. Where you can swim in the salty water and take long walks on the beach in the smooth, soft, and cold sand. It’s a place where you can taste the juicy steak and all the tropical flavors filling your empty stomach as you overlook the beach and the joyful tourists having fun on the beach. Where you can wake up every morning to the beautiful beach and turquoise water.…

More than 10,000 people are homeless in Atlanta on any given night, and I was given the opportunity to go and help them. A year and a half ago I went up, from my lovely suburban hometown in Orlando, Florida, to the urban hub of Atlanta, Georgia with my local church’s youth group to help out with the homeless epidemic. Being a veteran of mission trips, I was prepared to help out people who needed help and let the kindness of God move through me like a beacon of love, but I was never prepared for all of it to change the way I viewed life. Morals inculcated in me on that trip still affect my decisions to this day. Morals such as being selfless, having patience, and having empathy profoundly define me as a person because of this trip.…

While a dictionary may focus on the stresses that come with caring, the reality is that caring is simply having an predisposition for something or someone. The most important aspect to remember revolves around the person being cared for, rather than the initiator. This concept is a two way street and requires the participaction of both the person caring and the person being cared for. One feature that is important for the person who is caring to look at is the needs and desires of the person they are caring for. In order to really demonstrate how to care about someone, you must put yourself in their shoes.…

Volunteering at the homeless shelter is one of my favorite things to do. A few weeks ago, on a serene Saturday morning, my family and I volunteered at Loaves and Fishes. It was special to see just the sheer amount of people who had come out to volunteer on that Saturday. If you think about, they could’ve been doing anything on that Saturday morning. Yet, they decided to help give back to their community.…

This improves my physical and emotional health positively. Being caring allows me to give my heart to others when they need it, which makes me feel good emotionally. The physical benefit of being caring is knowing I don’t have to hold or hide my emotions in, which makes me physically stronger than others. Lastly, being caring and warm hearted makes me feel comfortable where I’m at in my life no matter the situation, because I know in my heart I did everything I could to make the best of my situations, and by doing so I hope I can persuade one to create the same habit. Caring is a huge emotion many individuals tend to hide,…
