When most people think of trick or treat they think of kids wearing costumes and kids getting lots of candy. If you ask parents or kids what trick or treat means, they will probably tell you that they do not know what it means but kind of curious on what it does mean. The parents or kids that do know what trick or treat means will tell you that it means give me a treat or i will play a trick on you. On halloween even if the kids do get treats they might toliet paper houses, soap the neighbor's windows, or chalk their best friends vehicle.
