What Does Gospel Mean To Me

Superior Essays
Throughout my relatively short life, the Gospel has been shared with me in several ways. No matter how it is shared, the same point remains at the center and that is that Christ died for me so that I can live the life that I live today. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (KJV) Nevertheless, we in no way deserve this gift that God has bestowed upon us. All men are born with a sin nature and there is no way to escape that. This is why God sent Jesus to bear our sins on the cross at Calvary. For this, I am eternally grateful. The ways in which the Gospel has been shared with me all have one thing in common; that is that each and every one has been …show more content…
Whether it be Sunday services, Bible school, or youth group, I have always been clearly presented with the Gospel message by all of these means. When I think of specific verses that stick out in my mind pertaining to the Gospel message, I think of Acts 2:21 (“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (KJV)), Romans 1:16 (“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (KJV)), and Romans 3:23 (“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (KJV)). One thing that I am especially thankful for is that each and every time the Gospel has been shared with me, it has been done so in a loving manner. This is yet another important aspect for us to consider; the way in which we present the gospel to someone that has never heard it is the way they will see it for the rest of their life. Thus, we should long to do so in love and never with a judgmental attitude. 1 Corinthians 16:14, “Let all things be done with charity.”

We must nurture new disciples, as seen in Matthew 28:19-20. It is important to teach these individuals of why and how to relate the Bible as the revelation of God in matters of life, salvation, kingdom work and theology. This is vital to the new believers, because they must learn how they view God and his response to their lives; as well as to their response to the world. Through discipleship believers learn how to communicate God’s love to those who are lost and without love. They also learn how to convey God’s incarnational love to…

A priest I used to know would always thank God for the crosses that were given to him. You should thank God for the ability to transfer the love and mercy which our Lord has given to us onto others. If a spot opens up on a mission trip and Heidi makes you go, you should have joy that you get to spend a week of your summer out in the heat helping people. When your friend comes to you with a lot on their heart, you should rejoice and be there with them however they need. If you are required to do some service hours for school or something after school, you should thank God for the opportunity to volunteer for others that could really use those corporal works of mercy.…

While we have the Bible Club meetings, kids smile, and listen to the Gospel getting preached. People will also go and tell others about what the Lord has did for them. All in all, if people learn about the Lord, they can go and tell others about him, so the people who do know have the enjoyment that I have, can go and become a member of the Bible…

I have learned from reading this section that the Bible is not all good news. If we want to live through the Gospel, we have to realize that sometimes things don’t go our way. Although, that’s a part of living through God’s words and responding through faith. I have realized that God plants good and bad things in our lives for a reason. I believe that viewing our lives and everything else in light of the gospel, we will commit to living ever-mindful of the love of God.…
