“Scouting rises within you and inspires you to put forth your best,” Juliette Gordon Low once stated this opinion on what Girl Scouts does for you. If you were to ask others what it means to them, you would probably get a very similar response. Girl Scouting has affected me and my family in a very direct way. I am so grateful for Girl Scouts and the person it has made me today.
Throughout the thirteen years of being in Girl Scouts, I have learned how much the program means to me. If I was not a Girl Scout I would not have received all of the opportunities that I have gotten through the years, such as traveling to many different places around the Midwest. We have traveled to Soni Springs in Michigan, spent a week at the Dunes National Park campground. As

Girl Scouting means more than just going to weekly meetings and getting badges. Girl Scouting has been a support system for me. Whenever I go to a meeting in a bad mood and I can always count on leaving with a better attitude. The support you receive from the girls and leaders is phenomenal. I have learned that the friends you make are going to be with you forever. They are my biggest supporters and have been since we met. We have all grown to love each other and I can say that I spend more time with them than any of my other friends. Whether it be at meetings, cookie booths, or outside of school, we always make each other's day better. I have learned to love the girls in Girl Scouting like my own sisters. I am so glad that we were able to meet each other when we did because they are life long sisters.
