Onshore setups are made for fishing from the land, and mostly in ponds. If there is a reel for ponds, then it should not be taken to the lake because the gears will rust from the salt in the water. When fishing had not become popular yet, fisherman used to stick with one pole, and it would only last them a little while because they were used in improper conditions. When buying fish at the store or eating at a seafood restaurant most people don’t give much thought to where the food they’re eating came from beyond “the ocean.” Even less consideration is put into how the fish was caught or if the practice is sustainable. Today’s mentality is all about instant gratification regardless of future consequences, whether it be health or environmental risk. Many people may think the Ocean is an inexhaustible source of food because it covers over 70% of the Earths surface and is as deep as many of the largest mountains are tall. This assumption is incorrect and in part feeds into the reason why over-fishing occurs.…

It was so hot today, I could practically hear death call my name (personification). I was, standing over the first fish that I caught, thinking to myself, “fishing is funner than I thought”. I had just caught a 4 inch sunfish with a cane pole of all things. I kept thinking “omg, omg, omg omg”. After about 5 minutes of thinking about this cool fish and how I was going to show it to my Uncle Jimmy and let him say “nice buddy, catch another big one”, but then I realized that the fish was dying because it was not in the water, so I quickly rushed it back to the water, even though I was going to show my Uncle.…

Fishing for Trouble: The need for world wide enhanced regulations and policies Fishing has caused devastating issues to the environment and inhabitants. It has once been said that there is an unlimited supply of fish in the lakes, oceans and seas. Because these bodies of water are known to be extremely massive, it would be virtually impossible for it to be over fished. Right now, the world’s current population is over seven billion people, and the demand for fish has never been higher as even more common consumed marine organisms are getting depleted every year to the point of the endangered state or completely extinct from either being consumed or from the destruction of their environmental habitat.…
