In any subject you will always have things to work on and perfect, and my subject in this case was English. I have had trouble in the past with my attention, writing, and grammar skills. I found resources that helped me work on these skills, but I will go on to explain it more throughout my writing.
I often become distracted and struggle with my attention skills. Not being able to focus has made writing a struggle for me. Since I cannot concentrate well, I end up procrastinating on any assignment that does not interest me. When I stop procrastinating and start writing, I tend to venture off the main topic. I struggle with paying attention because I have Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), and this has been the source of me being behind on certain topics. Writing is a skill that I need more help on because I struggle with forming thesis statements. I find it difficult to write a well-constructed thesis. I found that “The Little Seagull Handbook” is actually very helpful to me when forming a thesis statement.
