They have exposed me to many new ideas and point of views. HSHMC has not just open up my mind, they have also opened up my future. Through the school, I was able to go to prestigious internships at Sharp Hospitals, where they trusted me with the help taking care of patients as well as the background medical processes: lab orders, specimen drop offs, and sample collecting. Furthermore, my school provides us with college level courses since freshman year and I, as well as many other students, got the opportunity to take actual college classes as early as our Junior year. Actually, I am accelerating my Senior year a semester early by doing a double English block, so I can focus on all college classes in the second semester. This, in turn, will help me greatly in my goal to graduate a four year university as well as another two or four years in graduate school, none of which my parents were able to achieve. With my newly found knowledge I will help improve the world.
I stand among the constant calls for help, scanning the room for the ones in dire need. Hands from every direction reaches out to get my attention.
