What Does College Mean To Me Essay

Since I was little, I have been hypnotized by the stars. Each star twinkles in such a spectacular way, that when I would look outside my window, with my teddy bear in hand, I would have trouble picking my favorite one. The stars inspired me to be curious, to look for the same light they gave off in the world around me, and to love myself just like I loved the stars. As I prepare for college, the idea of college as a whole reminds me of the stars. The promise of a bright future, the chance to discover who I am as an individual, and exploring the curiosities that throbbed in my heart all those years ago are all feelings I experience when I think of college. The purpose of college is to be my new stars. As a child, I was always asking questions. I was entranced by astronomy, by literature, by everything I could set my eyes on. Growing older, that quality has never changed. Whether it’s having my nose in a book or trying a new activity, I’m always trying to feed my curiosity. I’m always searching for opportunities to learn more and more. College gives everyday people the opportunity to feed their curiosity. With clubs, educational extracurricular activities, and classes that could feed anyone’s need for knowledge, college facilitates and encourages curiosity. My admiration for the stars built my positive attitude towards life. They lit up the world in the dark of the night, and they inspired me to do the same. Currently, in times of terror and violence, I strive to look for the beauty, and remind myself tomorrow will be a better day. I believe education can help make tomorrow a better day. With the knowledge of the world at my fingertips, I could work on making my optimist viewpoints a reality.
