To Kill a Mockingbird is a story partially about a girl named Mayella Ewell who is accusing a man of raping her. The story takes place around the 1930’s, during the Great Depression. Slavery has been ended but just like today there is still racism about in some areas. The man that Mayella is accusing of raping her, is an African-American male by the name of Tom Robinson.
