What Does Blitz Cause Separation Anxiety?

Improved Essays
The anniversary of the death of my beloved friend and protector, Blitz, passed yesterday. Blitz was a tri-colored Collie who was a prince of a dog. When the wind ruffled his fur or he pranced he was the epitome of canine royalty. Blitz was a gentle soul who loved nothing more than to be with his family. We did everything possible together. Throughout his life he suffered from digestive ailments which caused him to feel unwell and quiet oftentimes. As I, myself, suffer from medical issues which force me to lead a sedentary life at times, we were the perfect companions for each other. Three weeks before his sixth birthday, Blitz became dizzy one evening. His dizziness increased through the night until he was unable to stand, sit or walk more …show more content…
The characteristics of separation anxiety are excessive barking, whining, howling, or other vocalizations, overprotective behaviors, (such as "standing guard" at windows or doors), and destructive behavior in the home while you (the owner) are gone for a period of time. These behaviors are not only annoying to neighbors, but dangerous to passerby's, and your dog's physical health. Separation anxiety can be particularly troublesome for residents of apartments and complexes because neighbors are unwilling to tolerate the excessive barking, whining, and howling. But how do you keep your dog from acting badly due to their separation anxiety? And can it be prevented before it escalates? Signs of separation anxiety usually begin during puppy-hood, and by catching the warning signs you can keep this issue from escalating as they age. Separation anxiety starts with minor fits of barking, whining, howling, destructive behavior, and disobedience. These negative behaviors are meant to be attention-getting, and as their owner you must ignore these behaviors. By giving attention to negative behaviors they are being viewed as positive by the puppy, because attention is a form of praise. (Even if this is not what you meant.) Negative behaviors can seem cute while they are young, but as an adult dog they are increasingly bothersome. And once …show more content…
With the warmer weather just around the corner, your children are more likely to be outside playing with their pets. So get ready to help them all by eliminating such pests. Home remedies should always be tried first in my opinion, since chemical based products can have adverse side effects for your dogs, cost you a bundle, and also pose a health risk to children if not stored correctly in the home or garden shed. Since most of these parasites can be transferred to humans, it is most important to never, ever allow your dog to lick your face. While most people see this as a sign of love and while it surely is just like a kiss, it is also very possible that you will become dangerously ill from ingesting worms or their eggs as a result of being licked. Teach your children this is not acceptable, and how important it is to thoroughly wash their hands with warm soapy water and to use disinfecting wipes after playing with their dogs. Changing into fresh clean clothes after doing so is also advisable. These worms can cause immune dysfunction, blindness or worse. Don't ever think you dog has no parasites since no symptoms are present. Always assume that they have, treat them as though they have, and be protected. Dogs often show no symptoms at all, or have been infected for a long time, even years before symptoms even begin to present. Always keep in mind that these worms can, and do kill

How to Train a K-9 Unit Dog K-9 dog training is a long process that not only takes up the early lives of puppies but most of their adult lives. In the argument about dog parks for residents with pet dogs, I totally agree that they should be provided with a park for their animals. I agree because, i dont think a simple walk around the neighborhood is not to much exercise on a daily. Exercise is important to dogs' mental and physical health. Also another reason would be because according to (ASPCA) "dogs that dont get exercise can act out at home by barking or destroying things at home. Socializing is important too.…

We found out through word of mouth, I approached management who then confirmed it but only after my personal dog contracted the parasite and had to have a few hundred dollars of veterinary services. This was a known issue and yet there was no official statement to the students when it was discovered. The issue lacked transparency and it also lacked a quick response that one would expect from a facility touting itself as “World Leader in Pet Education”. This is a very high standard to paint on the wall and yet there were several students who were upset and, I would go so far as to say, disgusted with the condition of the facility, lack of upkeep and maintenance, lack of prompt and proper care of boarded dogs and a lack of transparency. I will say this, Starmark is very lucky to have their head instructor, “Phil” (not his real name because I did not ask permission to use it).…

“Humans are the only hosts, with infection occurring most commonly in young children” (Suh & Keystone, 2015). Being that young children are the most commonly exposed and infected, pinworms become easily transmitted largely due to the fact of knowledge deficit in regards to transmission and prevention. The nematode can be easily spread in daycare centers, camps, schools or anytime children are in close contact. “Up to a quarter of all children worldwide are estimated to be infected with pinworm” (Diemert, 2016). In the instance of children with pinworms, it becomes the responsibility of both the child, but most importantly parent to help stop the cycle of transmission.…
