How many of you have heard the piano piece, "Für Elise?” (Hum the tune), what does Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, and Mendelssohn all have in common? They are known throughout the world as classical music figures. These composers didn’t learn music overnight, It took time and practice. The music achievements they made have changed people’s lives; attracts people to the genre- the high social class, and has also helped promote honest communication of emotions. It brings home the 10,000 hour policy from The Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell that says, you get mastery of anything you spend 10,000 hours doing. When do you want to start acquiring your own hours? As we shall see that music aids IQ and eases internal and external stressors therapeutically.
II. Need
A.) Music promotes studying other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas. “A music-rich experience for children of singing, listening and moving is really bringing a very serious benefit to children as they progress into more formal learning,” says Mary Luehrisen, executive director of the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation, a not-for-profit association that promotes the benefits of making music.
