What Does Basketball Mean To Me

Decent Essays
Inspiration comes to all of us in many ways. Basketball is one of them, basketball has been a huge impact in my life. I have played basketball for about ten years and even though I’ve stopped playing basketball because of college, basketball still impacts my life. From playing basketball it has taught me so much, such as never giving up, work hard even if you feel like giving up and work together. Even though basketball had been a part of my life but what inspires me the most would have to be my parents and grandparents. I know that they will always be there for me no matter what. My parents are the reason I’m here and they are responsible for raising me to be the women I am today. They have been there for me when I was sad, happy and scared.

When I was a younger teenager, I would tell myself that my parents weren’t logical and I could tell them what to do. Now that I am trying to make college and life choices, I wouldn’t have gotten accepted to a college or, in the first place, wanted to go to college without their parental skills. They do a great deal for me and I never appreciate them.…

Do not get me wrong football is a great sport and it is very exciting, but basketball you need height in most cases as to say you wanted to play the center or power forward position, in football you can be the shortest person and ever and as long as you can run at least a 4.5 you’re the best person in the league.…

The person who inspires me the most is soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, he isn't just a normal soccer player to me he is my inspiration and my motivation to never stop trying, never give up, and doing the best I can. This belief is important to me because during my own personal struggles as a kid I looked up to Ronaldo as a role model someone who I could relate to and make a personal connection with. I have come to develop this belief because even with Cristiano's struggles in life he was still able to do what everyone claimed to be impossible, change the way million's of people view the sport of soccer. When I first witnessed Cristiano Ronaldo play soccer I didn't think of him as anything special just another ordinary Portuguese soccer player, but as his talent started to improve so…
