What Does Aristotle Mean In To Kill A Mockingbird

Greek philosopher Aristotle once said, "You will never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor" (Aristotle). Aristotle's words are true in context with Harper Lee's book, To Kill a Mockingbird. In this novel, Lee takes the readers through a fictional story from the perspective of a young girl living in Alabama during the 1930s. Scout, the narrator, tells the readers of the hardships and prejudices she had seen while living in Maycomb County. Not only is Scout subject to the immoral parts of life, but the good parts as well. Acts of courage and bravery are witnessed by Scout, and through those acts she learns the meaning of courage. Through the actions of Atticus Finch and Mrs. Dubose,
