Jesus was the messiah, the savior, and the suffering son. His purpose was already planned. Jewish high priest said that Jesus was taking part in blasphemy. They felt it was better for one man to suffer than a whole nation to die. The high priest wanted Jesus to be put to death. He was arrested and betrayed with a kiss. Jesus was taken to Pontius Pilate, he was the roman governor of Judea at that time for his fate to be judged. Pilate thought Jesus was innocent, but in the end he let the crowd decide Jesus’ future. The high priests pushed that Jesus be crucified. Crucify him! Jesus was publicly beaten and tormented. Jesus was nailed to a cross, he was nailed at his wrist and ankles and he was left to die. Sabbath is a day of religious observance and abstinence from work, kept by Jews from Friday evening to Saturday evening. There were several Sabbaths, the high day Sabbath and the weekly Sabbath.
