George Washington was challenged with military and western expansion as well as having to set up a whole system of government. Franklin Delano Roosevelt inherited the challenge of dealing with the Great Depression because our economy was in shambles due to the falling stock market. Lyndon Johnson had the challenge of a rapidly growing struggle to restrain Communist encroachment in Vietnam; he had segregation issues to deal with (“Lyndon B. Johnson”).
