Causes of writer’s block.
There are many causes for writer’s block and it’s believed that these causes can be worked through and writing can continue. Some of those cause are as follows:
Fear: We get afraid of criticism or we build up ideas that our work isn’t good enough and it stops the flow of ideas.
Inability to focus: Sometimes we get so many ideas or thoughts even bogged down with everyday stresses that we find a lack of focus and are unable to organize our thoughts into coherent ideas.
Perfectionism: You want your work to be spot on and every word perfect. Sometimes focusing on making it perfect stop the flow of your words. …show more content…
Readers tend to read about things that interest them such as time periods or military themes and subsequently expect their author to know about such subjects. In researching for your book it may give you some very interesting ideas to include.
Brainstorming: Have a lot of ideas? Well, brainstorm those ideas and don’t be afraid to get some outside opinions on those thoughts to help give you clarity and reduce the number to a manageable level.
Start a dream journal: Dream journals are a way to help remember our dreams and awaken your imagination. By awakening your mind and allowing it to blossom with imaginative ideas, it reduces writer’s blocks.
Support groups and therapy: Sometimes writers get anxious or depressed and it helps them to get therapy to help them work through those issues. Having a solid support group like family, friends or even an outside group to give positive feedback can help keep a writer’s spirits up, thus help to keep away writer’s block and, subsequently help to deal with possible negative
