First, what is death? Death in short means to no longer be alive. In the medical profession there is some debate about what is considered dead, mostly when considering organ donors. As for now the legal standard of death is to die and be pronounced deceased or “The UDDA also recognizes whole-brain death -- irreversible cessation of all functions of the entire brain -- as a legal standard of death. A person can be legally dead even if her cardiopulmonary system continues to function” (Veatch). A proposal is in motion to also “classify those in irreversible coma and PVS as dead”(Veatch). The terms heart disease and cardiovascular disease are interchangeable. “Cardiovascular disease is caused by narrowed, blocked or stiffened blood vessels that prevent your heart, brain or other parts of your body from receiving enough blood”(“Diseases”). Heart disease kills by suffocating a body from the inside. Heart disease causes “36 percent” of deaths in America(“Top”). An abstract example of heart disease is a football team. The water cooler is their heart because without it the team would get dehydrated and quit working. If the artery or spigot that the water flows through slowly gets clogged the amount of water the team has will be reduced until it is completely clogged. When no water comes out the team’s practice will slowly die, much like how the area of the body being cut off from oxygenated blood will slowly die without
