Dexter an American TV shows that focus's on the daily life of an forensics department head. He is also a part time serial killer but he chooses his victims from a utilitarianism viewpoint. He takes the lives of those of who are plagues to society. But, he claims throughout the novel and the show that he kills to protect those who cannot protect themselves, he takes justice into his own hands. Serial killers live amongst society.
