Romeo would not have had to kill Paris if his and Juliet’s love was common knowledge. Sharing their relationship would not have been much of a bad thing, and it could very well have reunited the two houses. Both lords had said that they were tired of fighting and wanted only peace between their houses. The only problem would have been Tybalt’s anger and hatred of peace and Romeo. Their relationship would not have been frowned upon by anyone else. Lord Capulet even said to Tybalt at the party to, ‘let (Romeo) alone, He bears him like a portly gentleman…I would not for the wealth of all the town…do him disparagement.’ (Act I, scene v, Line 65-70). If Lord Capulet had known of Romeo and Juliet’s relationship, he would not have forced Juliet to marry Paris, as she would have Romeo to take care of her and inherit his wealth. This would have meant that the friar would not have had to create the plan that would eventually lead to the lover’s

Romeo and Juliet could have done so many things at certain points in the play. First off, Romeo and Juliet should have not planned to get married after only knowing each other for one day, not even a full day, more of one night. You don’t want to marry someone you first met, they should have at least waited a little longer, or told someone besides, the nurse and Friar. Even better, they should have just come clean to their parents, that they wanted to eventually get married, because of Juliet not telling her parents, they planned for her to get married to her parents. When Lord and Lady Capulet comes and says that Juliet is going to marry Paris, this is another opportunity that Juliet has to tell her parents about her and Romeo.…
