The Rwandan Genocide took place over a span of 100 days, from April to July 1994, when the Hutu clan systematically slaughtered the Tutsi minority. Tensions between the two ethic groups had reached a crisis point, when the Hutu’s rebelled against the Tutsi rule and oppression by participating in a massacre of hundreds of thousands of Tutsi men, women and children. Approximately 1 million people were murdered over 100 days, equalling to 6-7 people per minute; and an added 300, 000 people died when suffering from the disease, poverty and malnutrition that the Rwandan Genocide had caused in the years following the massacre.
