With these techniques, they wanted break the prisoners down mentally and physically so they could try and get some valuable intel out of them. They did all kind of horrifying things to these prisoners. In on picture they had a male detainee standing on top of 2 boxes his hands cuffed between his legs and his other leg cuffed to the door behind him. (Solzhenitsyn, n.d.)
