Honors Coloquium Reflection

In Honors Colloquium, I feel that what is working best is the way in which we are broken into groups. I feel that if it was attempted to teach the class as a whole and discuss as a whole not much would ever be covered. Mainly, due to not many people would participate and many would know that they could just brush off the class. However, in our groups, everything is more interactive and engaging. We are also expected and held to a standard of being prepared and ready to discuss reading in class, whereas in other classes you can get by without participating. In the sense of assignments, I enjoy them. At first, I wasn 't a fan, but once I visited my grader, I found a new perspective of this class. This class is meant to shape me and prepare not just for the rest of college, but for my life after I leave UNF. With this new outlook, I enjoy this class a lot …show more content…

I like doing the highs and lows first as like an ice breaker, but I don’t like to take the quiz before our class discussion or questions. I understand why it is set up this way, in order for the students who didn’t read to get an opportunity of understanding. However, I would like to have my questions about the reading answered prior to taking the quiz. Yet, once we start the questions and discussion, I know the answer and I get slightly upset because I become aware as to what I was missing in my understanding and immediately know I answered the question incorrectly. I would just prefer questions to be answered prior to the

I am currently a senior in the Helms School of Government at Liberty University. I found out about your Global Internship Program through Dr. Cox who teaches my Corrections class. After doing research on your website I was very impressed. Being able to practice the skills that I have learned over the years such as government relations and disaster response, while implementing my Christian worldview in serving others would be an amazing experience. I would be a great addition to your team because of my past experience with serving on mission’s trips, living in a foreign country for a year and a half, and being on Liberty University’s student leadership team.…

I like how sometimes all the classes are chill and lay back and you can work on some work you need to catch up on. But, no one likes it when you learn something new and you're so confused but no one will help you understand. It’s like everyone has a map through the maze except for you. Although mazes will be confusing with a map or without it they have a visual and I don’t. My likes and dislikes are what they are.…

Over the course of English 102, I have developed a new set of skills and learned to become a better writer. When I first came into English 102 I struggled with many different concepts of writing. During the semester in English 102, my writing became stronger because I learned how to incorporate evidence into my argument, do more thorough research, have smoother transitions, and have more organization throughout my essay. I learned how to peer review better and to take what others say and incorporate it into my essay. In the beginning, before English 102, I struggled with good organization and flow to an essay, sandwich evidence into paragraphs, and having strong arguments in persuasive essays.…

Sitting at my desk in english class, 15 minutes before the end of the period, feeling a small sense of deep inner satisfaction from my work in the previous double period of Draw/Paint level 4, I held a piece of paper in my hands pertaining the information and guidelines of a common app essay. Somewhat confused, I stared blankly at the paper. The bolded words of the length requirement and the due date stuck out against the pure white like a needle through the skin of my finger. I felt a deep sense of dread as I was trying to brainstorm an immediate idea as to what I could write about. I thought of the lessons I learned from my father on right and wrong.…

-----The summer semester for Humanities is coming to an end and I can personally say on my behalf that this was a learning experience that I will not forget. I know it sounds cheesy but this class was different in comparison to the other classes that I had previously taken before; in this class I was able to learn about several cultures their art, rituals, places of worship and music. I said this class was different because I had never actually spent that much time looking at other cultures nor taking the time to actually understand them, but for this summer class I was given the task to do it, and it soon didn’t feel like I was doing homework anymore because I was actually enjoying the work I was doing and the reading I was doing on the course…
