Do we think that the rules we learned as kindergarteners applies to life today? Next, I believe it does not apply to the lessons we learned in kindergarten for the following reasons: we are more mature now, we know that if we want something we have to work hard for it, and life is not as easy as it once might have been. To begin, we are more responsible than we used to be when we was in kindergarten. Since we have not been in kindergarten for 10 years I think it is false to assume we have not gotten more mature. It might be true that if a kid is in kindergarten they might believe that however, teenagers have had experience and know that is not the case anymore our parents do not let us get away with as much as we use to be. In conclusion, people are more mature than they used to be in elementary school. …show more content…

In the book Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, there were four principles to live by. This included: 1) be impeccable with your words, 2) don’t take anything personally, 3) don’t make assumptions and 4) always do your best. One of the major lessons that I derived from the book was to speak with integrity, to say only what you mean and not use your words as a tool to spread false rumours or gossips that can hurt others but instead use it to spread the truth and love.…

Life is not a void filled with despair and difficulties as Hamlet has depicted in his soliloquy. Looking at Roger Ebert and Steve Jobs, we can see that it is possible to be content with your life even though it may seem like an unrealistic dream to some. Just because you can’t see it now doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. And it most certainly does not mean you won’t be able to find happiness later down the road. Life is valuable; it just depends on how you choose to look at it.…

So many things come with growing up and becoming an adult, that it's just overwhelming to think about. For most younger kids this thought is more of a dream do to the fact that they don't know a life with responsibilities and adversity that constantly attempts at taking you down but your suppose to not let that happen, but will I be able to get back up when I am shot down, will I be able to make a family and find a job that is well and stable to support a family and most of all will the world that's already out there accept what I have to offer? These things are what scare me about, going to college, figuring out what I plan to do with my life, thinking about how am I gonna pay this bill, that bill, my car payments, mortgage, all problems that come with growing up, that I know I am not ready for now and don't know if I will be.…

There are people who are barely able to eat; they struggle to obtain income to help support their family. There are people without jobs, homes, food, and support systems who fight every day to survive. Why do we take what we have for granted? Why are we not thankful for what we already have rather than being jealous of other people of what they have?…

Self-actualization is a life-long process, but what exactly does this journey self-actualization entail. According to Deci, Ryan & Guay (2013) “people have an inherent tendency toward growth and development, and that this tendency will, under the right circumstances, lead people toward actualizing their human potential, which means to become all that they are capable of being” (p. 109). In layman’s terms the authors were saying that theorists like Maslow and Rogers not only proposed but determined that people inherently want to succeed in life and that if they are motivated properly within themselves and through the help of a good support system they can develop the potential to not only be successful in life but also have a high sense of…
