Human Trafficking is the entire process of transforming an individual into a slave (especially for the purpose of profit). This coercive process includes but is not limited to the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining a person for the purposes of sexual and/or labor services. The two most common types of human trafficking are Sex Trafficking and Labor Trafficking.

To better understand what human trafficking is, first we must find out what it's not.

Human Trafficking is NOT migrant smuggling. Victims of human trafficking do not give consent whereas a person being smuggled does. Smuggling is the illegal transportation of people across national borders, human trafficking does not need to involve any transportation
