1. What are the symptoms? The 24-year old is experience sudden “energetic” mood, for example, driving late at night, running nude into the forest, feeling of “high” and “great romance”. Also, she is hearing voices.
2. What do you think is going on? I believe from her behavior could be signs of Schizophrenia or Bi-polar disorder. Or she may be experiencing normal sense of “high” from other influences, like her vacation. Or she could be under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Or she maybe off of medication when she was experiencing these events.
3. What other information would you want to know? Is there anyone in her family with history of schizophrenia/bi-polar or other medical conditions? Any changes of diet or medication(s)? Were there stressors/trauma before hand? Any changed to her environment? Any cultural factors? What is her educational level? What are her connections with her friends or family members? Were did they triggered her behavior? Or did something else happened? What was she like before these events or what are her daily routines?

3. I would ask these questions: Are there any history of psychological disorder in the family? Any stressors/trauma? Were there other times these symptoms have arise? What does her daily routine would look like when she is not stressed or worried? Are there contributing relationship factors, like her spouse, children, neighbors, friends? Are holiday dinners a trigger for her? Is being a host a big responsibility for her? If she has help in the future hosting, would she stress less? Does she have any physical factors that could worry her overall hosting performance? Any cultural factors?
4. I would use psychoanalytic and humanistic theory in my approach with this patient. I feel she may need a good retreat to lessen her worries.
