Many people struggle to commit to a diet, and/or exercise regimen, because most want a quick temporary fix. When people do find a suitable program, and don’t get the results they are looking for, that can lead to an unfortunate setback. Fortunately, there are several approaches such as diet improvements, better food habits, adopting physical activity, that we as health professionals can promote to clients, determining the readiness for change in our clients’ lives. The stages of change model consist of precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, maintenance, and termination. These stages help health professionals figure out where their client’s readiness lies, and assist them towards transitioning into improving their active and
