To begin, Romeo and Juliet kill themselves to prove a point to the families. Also, the hatred of the Montagues and Capulets ended because of their deaths, they had statues built of each child. Another part of the ending was when Paris was killed by Romeo. He wanted to be buried next to Juliet. The similarity is that they both make an agreement. Finally, Romeo and Juliet both died in the catacombs. To end this all, I have the modern Romeo and Juliet ending. In this they live happily ever after instead of dying. Also, Capulet and Montague can finally be friend instead of being secret friends. Plus, this kidnapper of theirs wants his share of money for gettin gbeat up by Romeo. To conclude, they both end with the families coming together, but one ends in catacombs while the other is in their front lawn.
Overall, the plot, characters, and ending were very different with very little similarities. To quickly summerize both of them just think of it like this. Two lovers whose family hates each other fall in love. So that's pretty much it, it is a story about love and hate. So, I hoped this helped explain the similiarities and differences of both stories, so remember, not all plots, characters and endings are the same, and this story shows

In the classic love story, Romeo and Juliet, the balcony scene shows how the main characters: Romeo and Juliet have very different attitudes toward love. Romeo is shown to much more immature and unconcerned about how in this scene the Capulets “will murder [him]”(Act II scene ii 70) if he is seen on their property and the only way he justifies his actions is by claiming that he has “night’s cloak to hide [Romeo] from their sight. ”(Act II scene ii 75) Juliet on the other hand, is much more mature even though she is approximately 5 years younger than her lover. When Romeo reveals himself, Juliet persistently…

From the beginning we are told, "Verona was being torn by a terrible, bloodthirsty feud which no human endeavor had been able to settle [. . .]" (Charlton 147). In the play and the movie, Romeo and Juliet are similar to all victims of tragedy. Both characters "are isolated-even from each other-before they are destroyed" (Goldman 167). In the play and the movie, their families' names, Romeo's banishment from Verona, and the poison separate them. The feud "was the direct cause of the death of the lovers, and but for those deaths it never would have been healed" (Charlton…

This is often considered one of the most tragic parts of the play, however if they were both only a few years older, would it still be considered tragic? We have to remember when reading this play that back in the 1600’s teenagers were considered adults and were mature enough to marry and have children, so why not be in love? “These violent delights have violent ends” (Act, Scene, Line), these are the words of Friar Laurence when he is pondering the marriage of Romeo and Juliet and the outcome. Romeo and Juliet should have been aware that their relationship was dangerous and that it may not end well. They knew of the consequences of killing themselves, but chose that over living without each other.…
