Physical textbooks contain information from the year that it was bought and the years before that date. This information is helpful for teaching older material, but when years pass and the textbook becomes out of date, it will not be much help because it does not contain newer information. With digital textbooks, they can be updated with new information that comes out, and this will help save money that may be spent on new textbooks every year. Students who have the lowest quality of electronics should be able to access the digital textbook just as easy as a student with the highest quality of electronics. The different learning programs should be easy to control and easy to access.…

Having calculators readily available may make math more enjoyable for some students, as they may help a student understand a problem more, and assist with getting the answers. However, one of the main counterarguments to allowing calculators in the classroom is that students can very easily take advantage of having a calculator. You don’t have to do all the work, you can just type in a problem and get an answer. Technology, such as calculators, can be used to replace a student’s basic understanding of mathematics.…

Also, more research shows that notes taken on a laptop are more just copied notes, they have more verbatim to them. If the students didn’t understand in class they won’t understand when they look back in their notes because it’s just copy of what the teacher said. “Content analysis consistently showed that students who used laptops had more verbatim transcription of the lecture material than those who wrote notes by hand.” (May 2) This further more backs up the point on why computers are bad for note taking. Some people may argue that using laptops are a lot easier because you can type faster as well as get most of everything that is said during the lecture, but if the studies say that it makes the notes…

I think that online classes would make higher education cheaper and more convenient for many students, giving them easy access. Technology assumes the position of a teacher, helping students who are struggling with school. Also, technology solves another problem of affordability because some parents are unable to afford after-school tutoring, but “MOOCs are substantially cheaper than faculty” (Tsyporin 347). Similarly, online classes become more convenient when a student is working to pay for school.…

Technology can be looked at positively because it helps students learn in different ways, research things at any moment, and will benefit students in the future by associating themselves with it. On the other hand, technology can be manipulated in negative ways. Students may find themselves distracted by what is happening on their computer screens rather than what the teacher is teaching. Technology in the classroom may also open up many new windows for students to cyberbully or watch inappropriate things. I believe that technology, with moderation, should be integrated into high school classrooms everywhere.…
