Hello Governor of Pennsyltucky, I am writing to you in regards of the Three Mile Island power plant closure. If you were to ask me Mr. Governor the power plant should not be shut down, for the same reasons it was opened. The power plant was opened up in order to offer a new form of electricity, along with other jobs. The nuclear power plant offers more benefits than just electricity and money. Nuclear power plants also offers multiple jobs for people, this is because they need people to mine uranium, transport it, guard the power plant, run repairs on the plant, help operate, and countless others. Unlike coal and oil power plants, nuclear power plants, while operating, emit no carbon dioxide into the air. Shutting down the power plant could also cause harm to the local economy, this

Well governor as you know, we as Americans constantly rely on oversea oil shipments, this means that we have a high amount of dependence on other countries to ship us oil. Shipment of this oversea oil, costs us significantly more money than shiping nuclear energy to their nearby homes. Now governor I know that you might be thinking about all the cons of nuclear power plants, and I will admit that like everything else nuclear energy has it’s own downsides. Things such as the mining of uranium being high risk, this is because mining uranium produces nuclear waste, which obviously is not a good thing. However safety precautions have been made in order to keep the mining process as safe and risk free as possible. Also the radioactive material, if spilled in some way or another, could lead to an evacuation of at least a 20 mile radius. Although this could occur, since the opening of the first nuclear power plant back in 1954, only 33 accidents have occurred. When you think about it in the long run, after 63 years of running power plants only 33 accidents is pretty
