What Are The Positive And Negative Effects Of The Industrial Revolution

Before the 1800’s, most Americans were farmers and most goods were produced by hand, but when the Industrial Revolution came into play everything slowly changed. Machines replaced almost everything. There were a lot of new power sources. For example; sewing machines, made our clothes quicker that it would if we would of hand sewn it like always. While most Americans continued to farm for a living, the economy began to shift toward manufacturing. There are a couple positive and negative effects of the Industrial Revolution, and some parts in the Revolution resulted to multiple deaths of adults, but mostly children. Most of the people that died was because of the unsanitary and unsafe working conditions. The factories were dirty and dangerous. They didn’t have any laws for the minimum pay or safety issues. The workers were paid low salaries that could barely pay to make a living. Their hours were long and they were not aloud to have any breaks. The owners of any business were very strict and if the worker was caught sleeping or taking a break they were severely punished. Because of how many jobs were made there had to be child labor. For example, modern buildings were constructed. The buildings were positive because they gave homeless people places to live. They built churches and architecture was modernized. They built row houses and apartments for people who needed homes when they moved. The industrial revolution was because of modern inventions.
