Death is the disappearance of all evidence of life (Leming & Dickinson 2011). Death Is a biological process that has social and psychological consequences. Historically death has always been considered a mystery, a complex subject difficult to explain. due to the desire of explaining death and dying in 1970s a movement called thanatology raised with the purpose of explaining death and dying (Leming & Dickinson 2011).
Death is part of the cycle of life (Collins,2016). in adulthood stage, most people are often thinking and working towards achieving their personal and professional goals, due to some of their experiences the concept of death is clear and they are aware that death is a life event that can happen at any moment (Leming & Dickinson 2011).
Perspectives of death completely change in older adulthood this phenomenon occurs because of social and cultural influences especially in the American society where death is primarily something that happens in old age (Leming & Dickinson 2011). Death in someone who is older is consider to be more socially acceptable than the death of someone who is just starting the cycle of life.
Experiencing death, it’s one of the most traumatic events that anyone can experience. fear and anxiety are emotional stages often associated with death. Many people use religion as their primary source to cope with the grieving process in a situation of death.
