If you weigh the evidence there are a lot more people who claim Facebook is bad for you. However, I find it hard to believe that it can be bad. There are 1.49 billion users on Facebook and half of those users login in a day, their most be something good about it. Therefore, I think Facebook has a lot more good aspect to it rather than bad aspects. Again, if Facebook cause more bad events to happen, I think there would be a lot less users on the site. If you look at the first article with functionalist theory you will see the difference between the good and the bad of social media. A functionalist would say, the bad about social media would be the fear of missing out causes people to pay more attention to their Facebook. In return would draw people away from their own lives and place more focus on other people’s lives. That would ultimately talk away face-to-face interactions because you would already know everything about the other person. On the contrary, a functionalist would say, the good about social media is that it boots the stock market. If someone posts about a product of a local business other people might share that post. More people will see that product and go purchase the product. In return, will boost the company’s revenue and therefore help the business expand. All in all the functionalist theory can analyze both sides of the story. However, it is up to you, whether or not
