Roman is one of the empires in the ancient days that has the glitters history. The Roman empire has lasted for thousand years and there was transformation in the economy and government as wealth was amass from their subjects. But it will be saddening to note that there were many negative effects of the Roman conquests. These negative effects include love for and abuse of power, slavery (oppress their subject), Religious Persecution and love for wealth more than honor.

The ruler was selfish, who only amass wealth and power for themselves and being disloyal to their servants. Conflict of interest was set in, whereby public officials or those governing the state was concern about their own interest in the expense of the whole country. “The aristocratic classes sought to enrich themselves by the spoils of war and the spoils of office; while the rights and the welfare of the common citizens, the Italians, and the provincials were too often forgotten or ignored.”
Lastly, Romans fought many war just to enforce their way of worship. They fought several wars against the Jews just imposed their deceased Roman emperors as gods to the Jews. The Jews great city like Jerusalem was destroyed and their ancient temple of Solomon was demolished. Emperor Nero throw Christians to the lions and accused them of bring fire into Roman.
Roman even though started with the policy of incorporation which was good for the citizens, but when developed into a great empire, the abuse of power arise, slavery was brutal, disloyalty set in, and above all religious torment.
