Infrastructure, the basic physical and organizational structures needed for the operation of a society, is the second most important element of power because it ensures the work of every person. With good infrastructure, a nation can function properly. Without a good infrastructure, the nation wouldn’t be able to function to its highest potential resulting to less work being done. It can also lead to a bad reputation to other countries and less power. Although military is extremely important to prove power, it does not rank higher than government and infrastructure because of the reasons mentioned above. Military is important if a nation wishes to seek power from force. With military force, about anything is possible. For example, under Adolf Hitler, Germany was able to capture and transport many Jewish people to concentration camps. The military was responsible for the capture, but the government and infrastructure had a huge play with it as well. Adolf Hitler, the leader, was the one making the commands, and used propaganda to communicate his ideas onto the German citizens. The people are in control of electing officials into office, and voting on major bills. The size of population determines how many people are in a nation and that have a voice. Usually countries like San Marino and Tuvalu, which have small populations, have far less power compared to countries like China and the United States that have a large population. National character, otherwise known as intangibles, is not as important as the others, but important nonetheless. It is the actions of one nation to act a certain way. For instance, the United States has good national character because it is known to voice solidarity and have good intentions. When threatened, they are known to fight back. Moreover, the United States has a lot of power because other countries are scared to threaten them due to their national character.
Alliances and foreign aid are important, but not more important than the other six elements of power. It is merely a helping hand; it does not ensure more power as a good military would certify. Geography is by far the least important because any country can make good use with whatever geography they are surrounded by. Every land area and natural resource has its pros and cons. That is why I believe it has the least importance from all elements of
