The world outside of northern Michigan is competitive, and I’m supposed to join it readily. By the end of high school I just want to still be a person that smiles at others in the hallway, and I want those smiles to be real. That’s really the only personal goal. Oh! I also want to give a commencement speech at graduation, I already have it half written. Next cross country season I plan to train harder and take better care of myself. If someone has to consciously make social goals, um, I guess that’s ok. I’ll settle with simply trying to be a friendly person who attempts to sincerely care about people. I plan to graduate high school and then move on to college. I do have a specific private university in mind, and would not care if my studies had to be cut short in order to pursue marriage or a “M-R-S Degree” as my mother refers to it. I dream of being a wife and mother. However, in the next ten years these plans could fall apart. I pray to know God’s will for my life, and to have the ability to follow whatever they might be. My plan is to follow

I have always had a passion for the arts, both in fine art and literature. I’ve always had a pull toward the fine arts and creating imagery, but had essentially tabled the idea of creating such imagery with words. I think one of the main reasons that I had waited so long to declare this major was because the pursuit of my Bachelor’s degree in Art took up a large portion of my time, so I was concerned about having such a fierce workload.
