Throughout my life I experienced many occurrences that affected my spirituality. All of the high and low points altered the way I view my spirituality. Being that I am still a growing teenager daily things also contribute greatly to my spiritual journey because God is within everything. I focused on the numerous events that occurred in my life and then chose five points in which I would like to represent on my timeline. After choosing the five events I dissected them, analyzed their importance, and ordered them in which they occurred. Each of the events I chose sum up my spiritual journey and have a great significance to the way I view religion and God.
My first event in my spiritual journey is one where I first began to question the truth behind God and religion. I was leaving school ready for the Thanksgiving break on November 24th, 2014 when I received a text from my father. In the text message my father said “ Grandma’s mammogram came back positive for cancer in her right breast”. I didn’t understand why my father chose to discuss this topic over text message or why she got cancer when she has never been sick a day in her life. …show more content…
My best friend encouraged me to join her teen bible study that she has been attending for two years. At first I was reluctant because I thought it would be a waste of my Friday nights. Finally on September 11, 2015 I went with her to the first meeting of this year, and enjoyed it. At the meeting we discussed our first week of school and also the events that occurred on 9/11. After this meeting, I started attending every meeting afterwards and go deep into scripture. This experience is a high point in my spiritual journey because it strengthens my depiction of God’s rules and love. Attending bible study with my best friend deepened my relationship with God because it helps me to interpret God’s signs of
