Analyse The Factors That Affect A Situation In My Life

When anyone is involved in any situation there are different factors that affect the situation. These factors can include things such as ethnicity, religion, nation, sexuality, age, and socio-economic level, to name a few. It can sometimes be hard to identify these factors when they are working in one’s favor. But when factors such as these are working against the favor of an individual, they can be very easy to remember. At first, I found it somewhat hard to think of an incidence where I could remember how such factors affected me. This is mainly because thus far, I have had the blessing of not having many situations where I was profiled or discriminated against because of something about me. Much this has to do with the fact that I am a white male born to upper-middle class parents and never really had financial struggles. The main situation I can think of where I saw one of those categories, such as my age, come into play was when I worked in delicatessen market at Jewel in Elburn. When I walked in the door on my first day working at Jewel, I studied my coworkers, and as I began to get to know them during the grueling hours of making sandwiches, I noticed that I was fairly similar to the rest of the crew. My boss, Maria, was the only one of the three full time employees that did not see me as a peon there to take care of the dirty work. The other full time workers would sometimes not even help a customer right in front of them because they deemed that task below them and they knew that they would be fine because the blame could be shifted to any of the part-timers on shift if we did not pick up their slack.
